Everything you might be wondering before getting started

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions, and that’s completely normal.

This page is here to help you feel informed, supported, and clear on what to expect.

If you don’t see your question here, please feel free to reach out.

Yes. LoveBugTherapy is a fully virtual practice.

All therapy sessions are conducted securely through telehealth so you can access support from the comfort of your own space.

Because I am licensed as an LMHC in New York, therapy services are available only to clients who are physically located in New York at the time of session.

This includes:

  • individual therapy
  • couples therapy
  • therapy intensives
  • EMDR-informed therapy work

You do not need to live in New York permanently, but you do need to be physically in New York during the session.

Yes, absolutely.

I work with couples and family members who may be navigating:

  • communication challenges
  • conflict cycles
  • emotional disconnection
  • trust wounds
  • attachment patterns
  • reconnection after difficult periods

Please note that couples and family therapy is private pay only.

Insurance is not accepted for couples or family therapy.

I specialize in:

  • trauma
  • anxiety
  • burnout
  • people-pleasing
  • attachment wounds
  • relationship patterns
  • communication and trust issues
  • emotional overwhelm

Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck in repeating cycles and wanting support understanding and changing those patterns.

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and integrative.

Depending on your goals and preferences, therapy may include:

  • trauma-informed talk therapy
  • nervous system regulation tools
  • EMDR-informed interventions when appropriate
  • hypnotherapy
  • trauma-informed yoga and mind-body awareness
  • bibliotherapy and healing through books, movies, and shows
  • therapeutic games and interactive exercises
  • guided visualization and journaling
  • mindfulness and energy-awareness practices
  • astrology and tarot as optional reflective tools

Every treatment plan is personalized and collaborative.

Not at all.

Many people begin therapy because they are feeling:

  • overwhelmed
  • disconnected
  • emotionally exhausted
  • stuck in relationship patterns
  • anxious or burned out

You do not need to “wait until it gets worse.”

Therapy can be a place for prevention, insight, growth, and support.

Yes.

I offer focused therapy intensives for clients who are looking for more concentrated support.

This may include:

  • couples intensives
  • trauma-focused intensives
  • EMDR-informed intensives
  • hypnotherapy / anxiety reset intensives

Visit the Intensives page to learn more.

Yes.

I offer educational self-guided tools and workshops through our educational studio.

These resources are available regardless of location and can be a wonderful place to begin if you are not ready for therapy.

Visit the Resources page to explore:

  • boundary tools
  • attachment workshops
  • self-trust resources
  • relationship healing guides

That’s completely okay.

Many people are unsure whether they need weekly therapy, couples work, an intensive, or a self-guided resource.

The Start Here page will help guide you to the best fit.
